Celebrities and celebrity-based business are becoming a sure-fire way to attract an instant customer base and draw attention to a specific cause or business initiative. How do you build a business around a celebrity-based industry, or appeal to star-power to help sell your goods? In this session you’ll learn the best ways to reach celebrity decision makers, understanding their goals, and how to come to terms.
This week’s featured speaker Brian Lee will discuss the new synergy between Hollywood personalities and Silicon Beach.
With his recent launch of Honest.com with Jessica Alba, an eco-friendly line of family essentials (diapers and wipes, bath and body care, and household cleaners) delivered through a monthly subscription service, Brian is currently focusing on bringing safe family products to the modern parent. Also a founder of ShoeDazzle.com with Kim Kardashian in 2008, Brian’s innovations in technology and eCommerce have led to a business model that communicates inspiration, delight, and entertainment to a loyal and growing subscriber base. Brian also co-founded LegalZoom with Robert Shapiro, an online consumer legal services company that has grown into a $150 MM+/yr business. Brian was formerly an attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP and a former Manager at Deloitte & Touche, LLP. Brian graduated Magna Cum Laude with at B.A. in Economics/Business from UCLA and received his J.D. from UCLA School of Law.
