From Denver, NY, Austin, San Francisco and recently Los Angeles – seems like incubators and accelerators are sprouting everywhere. The technology startup world seems to be booming. In recent Startup LA event there were over to 1,000 people in attendance from investors to first time entrepreneurs.
A bubble or not a bubble – that is NOT the question. The wave is large enough to cause changes in local eco-systems. From obvious ones, like sources for funding – to not so apparent ones, like the shift in the talent pool. A new environment where hiring managers in companies need to compete with the a passionate entrepreneur is convincing a talent to find a place of employment.
Oded Noy is a co-founder at Amplify.LA. In the year prior to starting Amplify the team visited most large incubators and accelerators in the US and some around the world. From Tel Aviv to Los Angeles, a pattern emerges that tells a story of why now, why it matters, and what does that this new trend means to entrepreneurs.
